Yeast infection is also called Candida in scientific language. In fact yeast in everywhere, in your food, in the air, in your stomach. So it is quite impossible of remain free of yeast. How to prevent yeast infection then? It is commonly believed that if we reduce the consumption of eatable that contain yeast, we’ll remain free of yeast. It is not true.
Yeast is of two types. Good bacteria and bad bacteria. When due to some reason bad bacteria out number good bacteria yeast infection is caused. In order to prevent yeast infection we need to make sure that no. of bad bacteria does not grow more than no. of good bacteria which is essential for some bodily functions.
Treatment of yeast infection also works the same way. They either kill the bad bacteria or increase the no. of good bacteria by administering probiotics. The good bacteria start multiplying and outnumber bad bacteria, hence yeast infection is cured. However, if you keep providing perfect condition for development of yeast, it will recur.  That is exactly what happens in most of recurring yeast infection.
Let us have a look at how we can prevent yeast infection.
    • Yeast develops very fast in warm places. By wearing cotton underwear you allow your vaginal area to breath. As fresh air enters the area prone to yeast infection all the bad bacteria are killed and does not let yeast infection develop.  Wearing nylon or synthetic underwear work just the other way round. No air, nice environment for yeast to develop.
    • Do not wear underwear at all during the night. Just wear a loose gown or if possible sleep nude.
    • After taking bath let your skin dry first then wear clothes. It is a common habit of a majority of people to dress up as soon as they are out of the bathroom. So make sure your skin is dry before you create a perfect condition for yeast to multiply.
