Anal yeast infection or yeast infection on the asshole is not as common as vaginal yeast infection. Both men and women can have yeast infection on the asshole. The most common cause of this kind of yeast infection is unnatural or anal sex or using some sexual device that is inserted into the anus. As we know yeast infection develops around the moist areas of our body, anus provides a good environment for it. Anal sex works as a catalyst for and aggravates the infection.

The symptoms of rectal yeast infection are similar to that of vaginal yeast infection. Irritation and itchy sensation with redness in anal area is the most common symptom.   • Stop wearing tight underwear for a few days. If possible do not wear underwear at all. This is possible if you take a few days off and stay at home.
  • Wash the underwear properly and makes sure it is rinsed properly so that no detergent particles remain there. You can also try placing the underwear in microwave oven after drying. This is very effective in killing all the germs.
  • Stop using perfumed soaps especially in rectal area. These soaps have very strong chemical which interfere with the bacterial balance in the affected area.
  • If you are sports person and wear special sports clothes which do not let the groin area breath, just relax for a few days until the infection is gone.
